Lovely Example of an Early Rosewood Travelling Writing Slope of fairly large proportions of Continental origin, possibly French. Circa first half of the Nineteenth Century probably French Regency period.
The entire main area with lavish brass inlay on well figured Rosewood opening to reveal an original fitted interior. Complete with its original twin handle carry brass handles
Condition: This Slope has been carefully restored including light polishing. The original embossed velvet writing area is of used condition, however we feel it not necessary to replace as it shows wonderful character left as is.
Lock and key are present and working, very slight evidence of shrinkage where top lift panels meet. All brass inlay is present. Both ink bottles are original.
